Joshua Tree National park is a great 1-day trip from Palm Springs. Visit Cholla Cactus Garden, Barker Dam, Hidden Valley, Jumbo rocks etc. If you have 2-3 days you can do more hiking, rock climbing, and geology exploration. The park has something for everyone.
